Pune: A major fire broke out at a warehouse storing scrap materials in Adarsh Nagar, Uruli Devachi, causing panic among residents. The blaze, which erupted unexpectedly, threatened to escalate due to the presence of highly flammable materials stored inside the premises.
Firefighters from the Pune Municipal Corporation and PMRDA Fire Brigades responded swiftly to the emergency. Working in coordination, they successfully brought the fire under control and safely removed three LPG cylinders and three oxygen cylinders from the warehouse — preventing a potentially explosive situation.
In a heroic act, tempo driver Sandip Karne entered the smoke-filled warehouse while firefighting efforts were underway and managed to drive out a vehicle loaded with gas cylinders. His courageous decision helped avert a far more dangerous incident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the situation was contained with timely and efficient action.
