Pune: Vaibhavi Deshmukh, daughter of the late Massajog Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, has achieved an inspiring 85.33% in her Class 12 board exams, despite grappling with personal tragedy and leading a statewide movement seeking justice for her slain father. In the PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology) stream, she secured a remarkable 91.5%.

Subject-wise Breakdown:
Physics: 83

Mathematics: 94

Biology: 98

English: 63

Marathi: 83

Vaibhavi appeared for her Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams just two months after the brutal murder of her father on December 9, 2024. Santosh Deshmukh was reportedly abducted and killed for standing up against an alleged extortion attempt involving a wind energy company operating in the region.

Still mourning his loss, Vaibhavi paid tribute to her father’s photograph on the morning of her result and said, “I am trying to fulfil his dream. I believe his blessings are with me, helping me remain strong.” Fighting back tears, she added, “But today, my father is not here to share this joy. I miss him terribly.”

The incident had triggered political unrest across Beed district and the state. While the accused initially evaded capture, Vaibhavi, supported by her uncle Dhananjay Deshmukh, her younger brother, and her grieving mother, fearlessly led the movement demanding justice.

Even during the examination period, Vaibhavi remained unwavering in her pursuit for accountability, drawing strength from her father’s courage and principles. Her success today is not just academic—it is a symbol of resilience and determination. The villagers of Massajog expressed deep pride in her achievement, saying, “If Santosh Deshmukh were here today, he would have been the proudest father.”

Vaibhavi’s story stands as a powerful reminder that strength in adversity and dedication to justice can lead to triumph, both in life and in academics.
