In a strong counter-offensive following Operation Sindoor, the Indian Armed Forces delivered a major blow to Pakistan by shooting down 50 drones during attempted cross-border strikes on Thursday night. The drones were launched by Pakistan to target sensitive regions along India’s western border, including Udhampur, Samba, Jammu, Akhnoor, Nagrota, and Pathankot.

The Indian military, already on high alert, deployed L-70 anti-aircraft guns, Zu-23mm guns, Shilka systems, and other advanced counter-UAS technologies to intercept and neutralize the threat. All Pakistani drone attacks were effectively repelled.

Videos of the intercepted drone attacks were shared by the Indian Army on social media, revealing that the attacks began around midnight between May 8 and 9. The Indian Army stated, “Pakistani forces carried out an aggressive drone and missile attack along the western border. Every attempt was thwarted with full strength. Indian forces are committed to defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan has denied the claims, alleging that India is spreading “false information” and termed the Indian statements as “baseless.”

According to Indian military sources, Pakistan attempted to target military bases in Jammu, Pathankot, Udhampur, and other locations using missiles and drones. These attacks were firmly countered, showcasing the preparedness and precision of Indian forces.

Background:
The latest escalation follows India’s surgical strike under Operation Sindoor, where nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and PoJK were targeted in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. Over 100 terrorists were reported killed in that mission.

India has reiterated that any provocation by Pakistan will be met with force, and the Indian Armed Forces stand vigilant and ready to defend the nation at all times.
