Mumbai: The murder case of former Maharashtra MLA Baba Siddiqui has taken a startling turn with shocking revelations from his son, Zeeshan Siddiqui. In his statement to the police, Zeeshan pointed to a slum rehabilitation (SRA) angle and named prominent builders and developers, including Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) MLA Anil Parab and BJP leader Mohit Kamboj, as individuals who should be investigated.
According to Zeeshan, Anil Parab was allegedly attempting to bring in independent builders for SRA projects. On the day of the murder, Baba Siddiqui reportedly had a WhatsApp conversation with Mohit Kamboj between 5 and 6 PM, during which the BJP leader expressed an interest in meeting Siddiqui regarding a builder’s proposal.
Interestingly, Zeeshan did not mention the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which had claimed responsibility for the murder. This new angle has raised significant questions and created a stir in political circles.
The revelations come after the police filed a 4,500-page charge sheet in the case, naming 26 accused. Anmol Bishnoi has been declared an absconding accused. Zeeshan Siddiqui’s four-page statement further mentions a diary maintained by his father, which allegedly contains the names of several builders and political figures involved in SRA projects.
Zeeshan revealed that his father was set to take the oath as a Legislative Council member two days after his murder on October 12, 2024. Following his assassination, other nominated leaders were sworn in on October 15, 2024. Zeeshan has expressed dissatisfaction with the ongoing investigation and has demanded a deeper probe into the names mentioned in his statement.
As this new information comes to light, it is expected to lead to intense political debates and accusations. All eyes are now on Zeeshan Siddiqui and the next developments in this high-profile murder case.
