Maharashtra: State is set to experience another spell of intense rainfall and gusty winds, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing alerts for the next 2–3 days. Following a temporary pause in the monsoon activity and light showers in some parts, weather conditions are expected to worsen once again.
Several rivers and canals in the state are already swollen due to recent heavy rains, and water levels in dams have surged. The renewed warnings have sparked concerns about potential crop damage and flooding, especially in low-lying regions.

Districts on Rain Alert

According to IMD forecasts, the following districts are likely to witness heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds, thunderstorms, and lightning:
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Parbhani

Beed

Hingoli

Nanded

Latur

Dharashiv

Chandrapur

Gadchiroli

Gondia

Nagpur

Yavatmal

In these districts, wind speeds may reach up to 40–50 kmph, raising the risk of storm-related damage.
Regional Weather Outlook
Konkan Region: Expect light to moderate rainfall, gusty winds ranging between 30–40 kmph, and occasional lightning in isolated pockets.

Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha: Thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds up to 50 kmph are forecasted in several areas.

Mumbai Forecast

Mumbai and nearby suburbs are likely to see moderate rain and thunderstorms over the next 24 hours. Daytime temperatures may reach 34°C, with minimum temperatures around 25°C. Overcast skies are expected to prevail.

Agricultural Impact

Recent rains have helped boost water availability in farms, but they have also damaged crops in certain regions. Officials report that 350 mm of rainfall has already been recorded so far this season. Sowing activities across the state are underway and are expected to be completed by the end of June. More rainfall is anticipated between June 7–8 and June 13–17, which could support further agricultural operations.

Safety Advisory

Residents are advised to remain indoors during thunderstorms, steer clear of waterlogged areas, and adhere to all local advisories and safety instructions.
