New Delhi: A heated debate has broken out in national politics over the Hiren Joshi PMO controversy, especially after Congress leader Pawan Khera’s strong press conference on December 3, 2025. Khera accused Joshi of influencing media, hiding foreign links, and “weakening democratic institutions,” demanding full transparency about his role, business interests and position inside the PMO. The government, however, has not responded, adding to the growing confusion about where Joshi stands today.
Who is Hiren Joshi?
Hiren Joshi is widely known as a long-time aide of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He holds a PhD, has a journalism background, and has spent years shaping Modi’s digital presence, handling social media, websites, messaging strategy and media monitoring.
He began working with Modi in Gujarat in 2008 and moved to Delhi when Modi became Prime Minister in 2014, joining the PMO as Officer on Special Duty. In 2019, he was promoted to Joint Secretary, further strengthening his influence in communication and technology operations.
Confusion Over His Current Role
The Hiren Joshi PMO situation has become uncertain. Some reports claim he has stepped away, while others say he has returned or is still active. A few social media posts even claim he may have travelled abroad. With no official confirmation from the PMO, speculation continues to rise.
Political Attacks Intensify
Pawan Khera’s press conference has sharpened the political debate. He questioned Joshi’s alleged connections, business deals, overseas links and influence over media organisations. These claims echo earlier allegations made by opposition leaders in past years.
No Official Response Yet
Neither Hiren Joshi nor the PMO has issued any public clarification. Until then, the Hiren Joshi PMO controversy remains unresolved, fueling more questions and public curiosity.
