Pune : Pune, ranked seventh globally and second in India for traffic congestion, has been struggling with severe traffic issues, with Bangalore taking the top spot. In an effort to alleviate this growing concern, Pune Police and the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) have come together to implement a strategic solution.
Today, a press conference was held at the Pune Police Commissioner’s office, where Additional Police Commissioner Manoj Patil and Chief Engineer of the Path Department Aniruddha Pawsikar unveiled the details of the “Mission Fifteen” initiative. This mission focuses on upgrading 15 major roads in the city, which are key areas contributing to traffic jams.
The roads that will be targeted for improvements under this initiative are:

Kalubai Chowk
Sopanbag Chowk
Fatimanagar Chowk
Bhairobanala Chowk
Mamadevi Chowk
Gollibar Maidan Chowk
Ramtekdi Overbridge
Vaidwadi Chowk
Hadapsar Vesh Chowk
Gadital Chowk
Ravidarshan Chowk
Pandharanagar Chowk
Lakshmi Colony Chowk
These upgrades aim to reduce traffic bottlenecks, improve traffic flow, and offer relief to residents and commuters. The authorities are hopeful that “Mission Fifteen” will significantly reduce congestion and make daily travel smoother for the city’s residents.
