Baramati: In a tragic incident at Sangvi village in Baramati taluka, a couple died in their sleep after an electric shock caused by a power surge early Wednesday morning. The deceased have been identified as Navanath Rama Pawar (40) and his wife Sangeeta Navanath Pawar (38).
According to reports, an unexpected rainfall caused a power outage in the early hours. When the electricity supply was restored, a sudden surge is believed to have caused a short circuit in the ceiling fan. The couple, who were sleeping directly beneath the fan, suffered a fatal electric shock.
