Pune: In a shocking incident on the Vadgaon Budruk service road, a 27-year-old biker was robbed of his gold chain following an altercation with three men. Sinhagad Road Police have registered a case and arrested one of the accused, while a search is on for the remaining two.
The arrested individual has been identified as Shivam Datta Avchar (18), a resident of Narhe. The complaint was lodged by Rohan Sanjay Ranpise, a resident of Dhayari Phata, who was targeted while returning home from Ambegaon on the night of Saturday, April 3.
As per the police report, the incident occurred at approximately 10:30 PM when Ranpise was intercepted by three individuals on a moped. They accused him of spitting on them, following which a heated exchange ensued. The confrontation escalated into a physical struggle, during which one of the men snatched a gold chain worth ₹50,000 from Ranpise’s neck before fleeing the scene.
Police Sub-Inspector Bhandwalkar is leading the investigation, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the two absconding suspects.
