Pune : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) functionary Pramod Kondhare has been arrested for allegedly molesting a female police officer during the scheduled visit of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to Pune. The incident, which reportedly occurred during security arrangements for the minister’s visit, was captured on CCTV footage.
According to police sources, Kondhare approached the woman officer from behind and allegedly pushed her inappropriately. The entire act was recorded on a CCTV camera installed at the site. Following the incident, a case under molestation charges was registered against him at the Faraskhana Police Station.
Despite the charges, Kondhare has denied all allegations. In his official statement to the police, he claimed that he did not touch the female officer in any inappropriate manner and that the accusations were baseless. However, based on video evidence and eyewitness accounts, police proceeded with his arrest.
The incident has sparked discussions about the safety and dignity of women officers on duty, particularly in high-profile political events. The Pune Police Department has assured a thorough investigation and emphasized that no one is above the law, regardless of their political affiliation.
