Mumbai : BJP MLA Suresh Dhas has raised serious allegations regarding the financial dealings of Maharashtra Minister Dhananjay Munde. Dhas claims that Munde’s driver owns an entire floor in a prominent building near Magarpatta City, Pune, and further alleges that many of Munde’s assets are jointly registered with his wife and Walmik Karad, the primary accused in the Santosh Deshmukh murder case. Dhas has stated his intention to request an investigation into these claims.
Munde, who disclosed a net worth of ₹23 crore in his 2019 Maharashtra Assembly election affidavit, has reportedly seen his assets grow significantly. By 2024, his net worth had risen to ₹53.80 crore. His asset portfolio includes vehicles valued at ₹15 crore, which comprises seven vehicles ranging from tankers to motorcycles, as well as 1.5 kilograms of silver. He also owns 190 grams of gold worth ₹7.03 lakh.
These revelations have intensified political pressure on Minister Munde, with calls for his removal from the cabinet to ensure a fair investigation into the murder case. Opposition leaders, including Devendra Fadnavis and Sanjay Raut, have demanded Munde’s dismissal to facilitate an unbiased probe.
The situation continues to develop, with ongoing investigations and political debates surrounding the allegations.
