Pimpri Chinchwad
Pimpri Chinchwad: In a late-night incident at Nagsen Nagar, Chinchwad, a couple was allegedly assaulted after refusing a demand for money. The incident occurred around 1:45 am on Friday. Shahzadbi Dastagir Bagwan (55), a resident of Bijlinagar, lodged a complaint with the Chinchwad Police regarding the attack.
As per the police, Bagwan’s son and daughter-in-law were returning home from a family gathering when two individuals, identified as Dnyaneshwar Dashrath Shinde and Ramesh Uttam Yalagi, intercepted them. The accused demanded money from the couple, and upon their refusal, one of the suspects physically attacked the husband in front of his wife.
When Bagwan and other family members intervened, the accused allegedly resorted to verbal abuse. One of the assailants then picked up a stone and struck Bagwan’s son in the face, causing injuries.
The Chinchwad Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident further.
