Pune: Maharashtra has reported a total of 369 COVID-19 cases since the beginning of 2025, with 278 cases currently active, according to a health bulletin released on Monday. In the past 24 hours alone, the state recorded 69 new infections, prompting officials to ramp up testing and surveillance measures.

Mumbai has emerged as the highest contributor with 37 new cases, followed by Thane (12), Navi Mumbai (7), Pune (3), Latur (1), Raigad (1), and Kolhapur (1). Since January, over 7,800 samples have been tested, out of which 369 were confirmed positive.

So far, 285 patients have recovered, while four COVID-related fatalities have been documented. Although case numbers are still relatively low, health authorities are taking proactive steps to contain the spread.

In Pune, two new infections were identified on Sunday, and one case was detected within the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) limits on Monday. All patients displayed mild symptoms and did not require hospitalisation.

Health officials have urged citizens—particularly the elderly and individuals with underlying health conditions—to continue following COVID-safe practices. Cluster monitoring and focused testing in high-risk areas are ongoing to keep the situation under control.
