Pune: The number of Covid-19 cases continues to fluctuate daily across Pune and the wider state of Maharashtra. Pune reported 22 new cases today, contributing to the state’s total of 59 new infections. More concerning is the rise in fatalities, with the death toll now reaching 32. One death was reported today from Miraj.
Overall, Maharashtra has recorded 389 active Covid-19 cases, with all patients showing mild symptoms, according to public health officials. Mumbai remains the most affected city, with a total of 912 cases (including recovered patients).
Health authorities revealed that out of the 32 Covid-related deaths, 31 patients had pre-existing comorbid conditions, while details on one patient remain unclear.
Current case distribution across Maharashtra is as follows: Mumbai – 13, Navi Mumbai – 1, Panvel – 1, Kolhapur – 6, Pune – 22, Satara – 2, Sangli – 2, Nagpur – 2, and Chandrapur – 10.
Officials also noted that Covid cases are rising not only in Maharashtra but in other states and countries, signaling the need for continued vigilance and precautionary measures.
