Pune: In a shocking incident from Kondhwa, a gold chain was stolen from an accident victim under the pretext of offering help.
Sachin Sanjay Mahajan (age 32, resident of Tilekarnagar, Kondhwa Budruk) has lodged a complaint at the Kondhwa Police Station. Based on his complaint, an FIR has been registered against an unidentified individual.
The incident took place around 10 p.m. on Wednesday (June 18), when Mahajan was riding his two-wheeler through Shriram Chowk in Tilekarnagar. His bike skidded after hitting a pothole, resulting in an accident. Taking advantage of the situation, the accused approached him pretending to help, and fled with his gold chain worth ₹75,000 and the keys to his two-wheeler.
The police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the culprit. The investigation is being led by Assistant Police Inspector Thorat.
