Pune: An IndiGo flight operating the Bengaluru–Pune–Chennai route (6E 441/238) faced disruption on Thursday night due to severe weather conditions in Pune. Initially scheduled to arrive at Pune Airport by 10:05 PM and depart for Chennai at 10:45 PM on June 12, the aircraft was diverted mid-flight and rerouted to Mumbai.
Pune Airport Managing Director Santosh Dhoke confirmed that the flight was held in Mumbai until weather conditions improved. It eventually landed in Pune at 1:32 AM on June 13 and took off for Chennai at 3:07 AM. Though passengers experienced a considerable delay, the diversion was managed smoothly, and there were no reported issues during the operation.
In a separate incident, an Air India flight (AI 379) traveling from Phuket, Thailand, to New Delhi received a bomb threat on Friday. The aircraft, which had taken off from Phuket at 9:30 AM, was diverted and returned to Phuket International Airport.
Airport authorities, as cited by Reuters, confirmed that emergency protocols were initiated under the Airport Contingency Plan (ACP). Officials at Phuket Airport stated on their official Facebook page that all necessary procedures are being followed to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.
