Pune:An artisan who crafts jewelry for local jewelers was robbed by two thieves in the Raviwar Peth area. The culprits assaulted the artisan and fled with a gold wire worth ₹3 lakh. A case has been registered at the Faraskhana Police Station.
The complaint was filed by Bharat Dewaram Mina (age 18), currently residing at Laxmi Dyeing Cutting Shop in Raviwar Peth. Based on his complaint, the police have booked two unidentified individuals.
According to the police, Mina works as a jewelry artisan for various saraf (jewelry) shops in Raviwar Peth. On Saturday evening (April 26), around 7:30 PM, he was traveling through the area on a bicycle, carrying a thin gold wire valued at ₹3.22 lakh. He was on his way to deliver it to Kamal Mandal.
When Mina reached the vicinity of Pawatekar Brothers and Sons, a jewelry store near Moti Chowk, two individuals intercepted him. They engaged him in a scuffle and managed to snatch the gold wire before fleeing the scene.
Police Sub-Inspector Hale is currently investigating the case.
