Pune: Karad Bus Accident – A school picnic turned into a nightmare on Monday morning when a bus carrying students from Late B P Junior College of Science, Pimpalgaon Baswant, fell nearly 20 feet into a valley near Karad in Satara district. The accident took place close to Vathar village on the Pune Bengaluru Highway.
The bus had around 40 to 45 students and teachers onboard. According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle suddenly swerved off the road on a sloping patch and plunged into the gorge. The impact was severe enough to throw several students off their seats, triggering panic and screams inside the bus.
Villagers from the area rushed to the spot as soon as they heard the loud crash. They climbed down the valley using ropes and makeshift ladders and pulled the injured students out one by one. Their timely response saved many from further harm, Karad Bus Accident.

Five students are reported to be in serious condition, while more than fifteen others sustained minor injuries. All injured students were taken to Krishna Hospital in Karad. Doctors have begun treatment and are monitoring the condition of the critically injured.
Karad Police also reached the spot and conducted a preliminary inspection. Officers believe the driver may have lost control of the bus, possibly due to overspeeding, although an official cause is yet to be confirmed.
The karad bus accident created panic among parents in Nashik after news spread through phone calls and social media. Many rushed to the hospital in fear, hoping for updates on their children.
The incident has once again raised concerns regarding the safety of school excursions and the condition of buses used for such trips. Local residents and parents have urged authorities to enforce stricter rules and regular checks to prevent similar tragedies.
