Mumbai – In a scathing attack, Karuna Munde-Sharma alleged that the behavior of Dhananjay Munde and his gang is more cruel than that of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. “Aurangzeb never imprisoned his own wife or got her assaulted by petty goons. But Dhananjay Munde has done both,” she said.
Speaking to a news channel, Karuna Munde-Sharma said, “Dhananjay Munde and his gang have a cruelty that surpasses even Aurangzeb. My sister was assaulted, and pressure is being exerted on me just as it was on my mother, who eventually died by suicide. Dhananjay Munde has already lost his ministerial position, and he is going to lose his MLA post next. Such people are unfit to live in society, let alone hold public office.”
On the claims that she and Dhananjay Munde were in a live-in relationship since 2012 without marriage, she countered, “We were married. No one lives with someone for 27 years without a commitment. Dhananjay Munde told the court I’m not his wife and that he was only occasionally visiting Mumbai after I became an MLA. But our relationship started in 1996 and we got married in 1998. Dhananjay Munde became an MLA in 2010. The judges questioned his lawyers, asking, ‘If she wasn’t his wife, why did he use her name for so many years?’”
She further added, “My husband always knew I had a fighting spirit. But his broker gang thought I would settle for 25–50 crores. I am not a woman who dances for money. I have given birth to two children and stood by my husband for 27 years. Today, someone else is enjoying luxury on his money, dancing and singing. I will submit all the evidence in court. The sacrifices I’ve made will be presented soon,” she warned.
