Mumbai: Maharashtra’s Minister for Information Technology, Law, and Cultural Affairs, Adv. Ashish Shelar, has announced the formation of a dedicated task force to create the state’s Cyber Security Policy 2025. This initiative comes in response to the growing reliance on technology and the increasing need to secure Maharashtra’s digital infrastructure.
With more than 800 government services now accessible online, digital technology is becoming deeply integrated into daily life. However, the rise of cybercrime and digital threats has prompted the state to take proactive steps toward enhancing cyber security. Adv. Shelar emphasized that the new policy will align with the National Cyber Security Policies of 2013 and 2020, ensuring a robust framework to address emerging challenges.
The primary objective of the Cyber Security Policy 2025 is to safeguard IT infrastructure across government, educational institutions, industries, startups, and other sectors. By prioritizing the security of both government and private digital systems, the policy aims to protect citizens and provide secure access to digital services. Adv. Shelar reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring a safe and reliable digital environment for all users.
