Mahindra has launched the XEV 9S in India, marking its first seven seat electric SUV in the country. Prices start at Rs. 19.95 lakh. The new model expands Mahindra’s EV lineup alongside the XEV 9e, BE 6, and XUV400. The SUV arrives as an electric version of the XUV700 and targets families seeking space, tech, and strong range options.

The 2025 Mahindra XEV 9S carries a modern design with a blanked front grille and sharp LED DRLs. Vertically stacked projector lamps add a bold road presence. The front fascia has an LED light bar that enhances the futuristic theme. The SUV also gets flush door handles, fresh aero styled alloys, roof rails, and a shark fin antenna. A Mahindra Electric badge sits on both ends to indicate its EV identity.
The cabin offers a premium layout with a panoramic sunroof and a wide three screen setup on the dashboard. Passengers in the second row also get dedicated screens for entertainment. The SUV includes a Harman Kardon music system and a two spoke flat bottom steering wheel. Features like ambient lighting, a powered tailgate, Boss mode seat, frunk storage, and reclining second row seats add comfort. It also includes headrests for all seats, an EPB with auto hold, and multiple charging and storage options.
Buyers get four drive modes named Everyday, Race, Range, and Snow. Five levels of regenerative braking allow better control of efficiency. The frunk offers 150 litres of extra space.
Mahindra offers three battery packs. The 59kWh and 79kWh packs come from the BE6 and XEV 9e. Both produce 380Nm of torque. The smaller pack delivers 228bhp while the larger pack develops 282bhp. A new 70kWh option is also available and produces 241bhp with 380Nm. The XEV 9S accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in seven seconds.
