Pune: In a shocking incident from Manchar, Pune district, a man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his younger brother following a minor altercation. The accused, identified as 24-year-old Rohit Sanjay Dethe, reportedly attacked his 22-year-old brother, Saurabh Sanjay Dethe, at their residence in Siddhartha Nagar, Manchar.
According to the police investigation, the conflict arose on Wednesday evening when Rohit’s wife, Nandini, was washing clothes near their house. While Saurabh was working nearby, some water splashed onto Nandini, leading to a heated argument. In a fit of rage, Rohit allegedly assaulted his younger brother with a knife, inflicting severe injuries.
Upon receiving information, a team from Pune Rural Police rushed to the scene and transported Saurabh to the hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries. A case of murder has been registered against Rohit Dethe at Manchar Police Station.
Speaking on the incident, a police inspector stated, “The accused has been taken into custody for the murder of his younger brother. Our preliminary investigation suggests that the two siblings often had disputes, and this trivial disagreement over water splashing on the accused’s wife might have escalated into the fatal attack.”
