The accused, identified as Rakesh Ramnaik Nisar, allegedly strangled his wife, Babita Nisar, during a domestic dispute over cooking and financial issues. The murder took place in front of their young son. After killing her, Rakesh wrapped her body in cloth and tried to transport it on his two-wheeler to dispose of it.
However, while he was on his way, some locals noticed him behaving suspiciously near Bhumkar Bridge around 1 a.m., close to the Swaminarayan Temple. They immediately informed the police.
