Pune: In a burglary reported early Thursday morning, unidentified thieves broke into a medical shop on Karve Road and made off with ₹1.28 lakh in cash. The incident took place at Poonamchand Medical Shop, located within the premises of Garware College.
The shop owner, Kailas Nabaraj Chaudhary (30), a resident of Thergaon, has filed a complaint at the Deccan Police Station. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered against three unknown individuals under charges of burglary.
According to police officials, the theft occurred between 4:30 AM and 9:00 AM on June 19, when the suspects pried open the shop’s shutter and looted cash from the counter. The matter came to light later in the morning, following which the police were immediately informed.
Authorities have started reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas in an attempt to trace the culprits. Assistant Police Inspector Jadhav is currently leading the investigation.
