Pune: In a shocking case of human trafficking, Pune police have rescued a minor girl from Bangladesh who was allegedly trafficked and sold for ₹3 lakh in the crowded Tulshibaug locality of the city. The incident has sparked fresh concerns about the rising crime rates and safety of vulnerable individuals in urban areas.

According to police reports, the young girl was illegally brought into India and kept confined in a room in Tulshibaug for several days. She was reportedly threatened with arrest if she attempted to escape, as she did not possess valid documentation.

Further investigations revealed that a group of five people were responsible for trafficking the girl and eventually selling her to a woman. The criminal operation came to light when a police informant tipped off the authorities. Acting swiftly, the Faraskhana Police conducted a raid and rescued the minor from captivity.

A formal case has been filed against the accused under multiple sections related to human trafficking and child exploitation. Officials confirmed that a deeper probe is ongoing to uncover the full extent of the trafficking network.

This disturbing development follows another recent case involving the alleged abuse of a foreign tourist at Pune’s popular Sinhagad Fort, raising alarms over the growing threat to both minors and tourists in the region.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to cracking down on human trafficking and related crimes, urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
