Pune: There has been an increase in motorcycle thefts in the city, and it has now come to light that minors are involved in stealing motorcycles. The Crime Branch has uncovered five motorcycle theft cases after interrogating one such minor. Additionally, five stolen motorcycles were seized during this operation.
While patrolling, police officers and constables from Crime Branch Unit 5 received a tip-off from an informant about a minor involved in motorcycle theft. The police called the minor and his parents to the unit’s office. After interrogation, the police uncovered five vehicle theft cases.
The police investigation revealed one case each at the Kaalepadal, Sinhgad, and three cases at Hadapsar police stations. The police have seized five motorcycles worth ₹1.80 lakh.
This operation was carried out under the guidance of Crime Branch Additional Commissioner Shailesh Balakwade, Deputy Commissioner Nikhil Pingle, and Assistant Commissioner Rajendra Mulik, with the efforts of Police Inspector Wahid Pathan, Assistant Inspector Vijaykumar Shinde, Police Constables Rajas Shaikh, Shahaji Kale, Pramod Tilekar, Tanaji Deshmukh, Vinod Shivle, Vinod Nimbhore, Amit Kamble, Akbar Shaikh, Rahul Dhamdhare, Female Police Constables Pallavi More, Swati Tupe, and Shubhangi Mhalsekar.
