Pimpri Chinchwad: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has stepped up efforts against unauthorized constructions by dismantling an illegal iron arch on Ajinkya DY Patil Road in Pathare Mala, Charholi. The builder responsible for erecting the structure was slapped with a ₹70,000 fine.
This crackdown was led by the Sky Sign and Licensing Department under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Aghale. The operation involved license inspectors Dhananjay Patil, Raju Vetal, Kishor Gawade, Raju Chaudhary, Dhansingh Dhyagude, and clerk Kalidas Shelke, alongside members of the anti-encroachment squad and laborers. Hydraulic equipment was utilized to carry out the demolition in a safe and efficient manner.
Deputy Commissioner Aghale, who recently took charge of the department, assured that the civic body will continue to take strict action against illegal advertisement hoardings and unauthorized structures throughout the city.
“We are actively working to remove illegal hoardings and structures across Pimpri-Chinchwad. The municipal administration is keeping a close watch on unauthorized encroachments. We urge residents and businesses to voluntarily dismantle any illegal signage or arches to avoid fines and legal consequences,” said Chandrakant Indalkar, Joint Commissioner of PCMC.
