Pimpri-Chinchwad: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will soon appoint an agency to supply contractual staff, including medical officers, nurses, and other hospital personnel, to all its civic hospitals. Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh has approved the related expenditure through the Standing Committee.
Additionally, a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will be installed at Maheshnagar Chowk, along with several other civic improvements.
A meeting held in the council hall was attended by the late Mayor Madhukar Pawale, Additional Commissioners Pradeep Jambhale Patil, Vijaykumar Khorate, Tripti Sandbhor, Municipal Secretary Mukesh Kolap, and other senior officials.
As part of the initiatives, incentive pay increases will be given to specialists and medical officers on the establishment. Jijamata Hospital will introduce postgraduate, undergraduate, and diploma courses following the successful implementation at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital.
Further decisions include providing security guards at Talera Hospital, Kasarwadi and Morwadi hospitals, and record rooms at Nehrunagar through MESCOM. Development works were also approved at the Swami Vivekananda sports ground in Sector No. 30, which will be upgraded into a stadium.
Public toilet cleaning under the H and E regional offices will continue daily, while the temple area at Pimpri Gaon will see renovation and electrical upgrades. The final phase of the Krantiveer Chapekar National Memorial will also be completed.
Plans have also been approved for hosting the Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Music Academy and hiring ten contractual employees for the Tax Collection Department. Green spaces like the Bhosari Sahal Kendra Udyan and Ankushrao Landge Natya Gruha garden will receive dedicated maintenance, and ornamental plants will be cultivated by the Garden Department.
Finally, Commissioner Singh authorized the expenditure to provide mobile toilet facilities for large public gatherings like Palkhi Sohala, Ganesh Utsav, and other festivals, ensuring cleanliness and convenience across the city.
