Pimpri-Chinchwad: Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey took a significant step toward public engagement by directly addressing citizens’ concerns through his official social media handle on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) on March 26, 2025. This online interaction provided a platform for residents to voice their issues related to traffic, public safety, cybercrime, and law enforcement.
Choubey highlighted that this initiative is designed to promote transparency, strengthen public trust, and ensure quick resolution of grievances. He assured that such interactive sessions will be held regularly and encouraged citizens to report their complaints and suggestions via the police’s official social media handles, @PCcityPolice and @CP_PccityPolice.
He also underscored the importance of police verification for migrant workers in industrial areas, emphasizing strict enforcement to ensure compliance.
Addressing concerns about late-night birthday celebrations causing public disturbances, the commissioner stated that strict actions are being taken against those responsible. He also warned that disciplinary measures would be enforced against police personnel who fail to maintain order.
During the session, real-time action was taken in response to complaints, including the issuance of an e-challan for a vehicle with tinted windows and an illegal number plate. Choubey also announced plans to introduce a tech-enabled platform that would allow residents to report traffic violations more efficiently.
This digital initiative marks a shift toward greater public involvement in law enforcement, reinforcing accountability and responsiveness within the Pimpri-Chinchwad police force.
