Pune: In a disturbing incident in Pune’s Hadapsar area, three individuals assaulted a PMPML bus driver with a belt and vandalized the bus by breaking its window. The Hadapsar Police have registered a case against the trio under charges of obstructing a public servant and assault.
The victim, Nitin Gurunath Khadke (35), a resident of Adarsh Nagar, Moshi, was operating a PMPML bus on the Hadapsar-Saswad route on Thursday, May 1. According to Khadke’s complaint, around 1 PM, three men on a two-wheeler intercepted the bus near Satavwadi. They confronted Khadke about the bus’s speed, assaulted him with a belt, seized his mobile phone, and smashed it. Additionally, they used the bus’s fire extinguisher to break a window before fleeing the scene.
A case has been filed at the Hadapsar Police Station, and Sub-Inspector Sheikh is leading the investigation.
