Pune: A heated argument between the drivers of a Porsche and a WagonR escalated into a physical fight outside the Westin Hotel on Sunday afternoon, creating brief tension in the area.
According to police reports, Prem Wadhwani (33), a resident of Hinjewadi, and Nimesh Nagesh Diwan (38), a resident of Wakad, engaged in a dispute over overtaking, which quickly turned violent.
The incident occurred around 2:15 PM. Upon receiving reports of the fight, Assistant Police Inspector Tapre and a marshal team from Mundhwa Police Station rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that the altercation started after one of the drivers attempted to overtake the other, leading to a roadside scuffle. Both individuals have been summoned to Mundhwa Police Station to lodge complaints.
Police have assured that further legal action will be taken as per the complaints received.
