Pune: A narcotic substance, Mephedrone (MD) worth ₹13 lakh, was seized from the Hadapsar area. The operation was carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Crime Branch.
In this case, Mohammad Nawab Mohammad Akhtar Shah (age 33, resident of Lakshmi Colony, Solapur Road, Pune) has been taken into custody, and a case has been registered against him.
According to police reports, on March 27, a team from the Anti-Narcotics Squad Two of the Crime Branch, including Police Inspector Sudarshan Gaikwad, Assistant Inspector Nitinkumar Naik, and other police personnel, was patrolling the jurisdiction of Hadapsar Police Station. At that time, Police Constable Sayyed Sahil Shaikh received information about accused Shah from a confidential informant. The police team took the accused into custody. A total of 58 grams of Mephedrone, valued at ₹13,17,500, along with other materials, was seized from him.
A case has been registered against accused Shah at Hadapsar Police Station under the NDPS Act.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional Police Commissioner Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner Nikhil Pingle, and Assistant Commissioner Rajendra Mulik. The team included Police Inspector Sudarshan Gaikwad, Assistant Inspector Nitinkumar Naik, and police personnel Sayyed Sahil Shaikh, Sandeep Shelke, Chetan Gaikwad, Sandeep Jadhav, Uday Rakshe, Ravindra Rokde, Mayur Suryavanshi, Nitin Jagdale, Yogesh Mandhare, Azim Shaikh, Yuvraj Kamble, Azad Patil, and Dinesh Bastewad.
