Pune: In a major crackdown on illegal activities, the Crime Branch Unit-6 of Pune Police successfully raided and destroyed an illicit liquor distillery located at Wadebolhai, near the riverbank. The operation, which was carried out with precision, followed a tip-off provided by informants Rishikesh Vyavhare and Rishikesh Takwane, leading officers to the site where illegal liquor was being produced.

The distillery was operated by Patharsingh Natha Rajput, a resident of Wadegaon, Tal. Haveli, Pune, who was found distilling hooch at the location. Upon inspection, the police seized a substantial amount of illicit materials, including 9,800 liters of raw material, distillation equipment, and 70 liters of ready-made liquor. The total value of the seized goods was estimated at ₹3,55,000.

The operation was spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingale and Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime-2 Rajendra Mulik, along with In-charge Police Inspector of Crime Branch Unit-6 Waheed Pathan. They were assisted by Assistant Police Inspectors Madan Kamble, Rishikesh Takwane, Rishikesh Vyavhare, Ganesh Dongre, Balasaheb Tanpure, and Nitin Dhadge.

The seized materials were confiscated, and a case has been registered under the Maharashtra Prohibition Act at the Lonikand Police Station. Authorities have confirmed that the operation was a significant success in curbing illegal liquor production and distribution in the region.

The Crime Branch Unit-6 continues its efforts to clamp down on illegal activities and maintain law and order in the city.
