Pune: The Pune police, known for their strict treatment of common citizens, seem to have a soft spot for the sons of builders. This has once again come to light as an accused in an obscenity case was allegedly about to receive special treatment in police custody—an attempt was made to provide him with burgers and cold coffee inside the police station.
On Saturday morning, a shocking incident took place in Pune where a young man stopped his BMW car in the middle of the road to urinate. When he noticed someone filming the act, he allegedly exposed himself. After the video of this indecent act went viral, the police arrested the prime accused, Gaurav Ahuja, along with his friend Bhagyash Oswal. However, reports now suggest that the accused were being pampered inside the police station.
A friend of Bhagyash Oswal reportedly tried to deliver burgers, cold coffee, and soft drinks to him at the police station. This is reminiscent of the infamous Porsche accident case in Pune, where a 17-year-old builder’s son, allegedly intoxicated, ran over two IT professionals with his luxury car. At that time, allegations surfaced that the police had provided the minor accused with pizza and burgers in custody.
Similarly, in this latest case, after Bhagyash Oswal was arrested and taken to the Parnakuti police station late at night, his friend attempted to bring him food and beverages. The person carrying the food arrived near the police station with a white box. However, due to heavy media presence, he was unable to deliver the items.
This incident raises serious questions about whether Pune police extend preferential treatment to influential individuals while dealing with criminal cases.
