Pune: In a heartbreaking incident that unfolded in the early hours of Saturday, 37-year-old Yuvraj Patil lost his life after his car collided with a truck at Gade Wasti Chowk, Wagholi. The tragic accident occurred at approximately 4 AM when the truck reportedly made a sudden, unindicated turn, leaving Patil with no time to react.
Patil suffered severe injuries and was declared dead on the spot. The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the crash. Following the incident, Aniruddha Patil, the victim’s brother, lodged a formal complaint. As a result, Wagholi police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the unknown truck driver under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicles Act.
A police officer involved in the investigation stated, “Initial findings point to the truck driver’s negligence. We are currently analyzing CCTV footage and speaking with witnesses to identify and apprehend the accused.”
This accident has reignited public concern over the rising number of accidents and reckless driving practices on Nagar Road, a stretch notorious for such incidents.
