Pune : The brutal murder of Santosh Deshmukh, the Sarpanch of Massajog village in Beed district, has raised significant concerns about the increasing criminal activities in the region. Deshmukh was tragically killed by a group of goons a month ago, and despite the time that has passed, there is widespread public belief that the murderers are still free, indicating a possible larger criminal network behind the crime.
The Beed-Parli area has seen several similar incidents over the years, which has created a sense of fear among local citizens and public representatives. The continued criminal activities have led to growing calls from across the state to eliminate the goon mentality and take stronger action against such groups.
Due to the rising threat, numerous public representatives have voiced their concerns about their safety, fearing that the same goons involved in the murder may target them as well. In response, a memorandum has been submitted to the state government, urging the Chief Minister to take immediate action.
The memorandum demands a review of the security arrangements for political leaders and public figures, with a request for appropriate police protection to ensure their safety.
This escalating situation calls for swift action to safeguard the lives of public officials and to combat the growing criminal menace in the region.
