Pimpri Chinchwad: Pimpri-Chinchwad is set to get a cutting-edge police commissionerate building in Jadhavwadi, Chikhali, spanning 3.39 hectares and built at a cost of ₹180.62 crore.
During the foundation-laying ceremony, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted the modern design and advanced facilities of the project, describing it as one of the most sophisticated police commissionerates in the country.
Developed by the State Police Housing Department, Fadnavis noted that the new structure is built to meet the demands of the next 50 years, enhancing the city’s law enforcement capabilities. He praised the police force’s performance and stressed the need for timely project completion.
The establishment of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate followed the bifurcation of Pune’s police jurisdiction, previously the largest after Mumbai. Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey welcomed attendees, emphasizing the positive impact of government initiatives on police services.
Focus on Policing and Investment-Friendly Environment
Fadnavis acknowledged Pune’s reputation as Maharashtra’s manufacturing and technology hub. He stressed the importance of maintaining an investment-friendly environment, given the city’s growing global engagement and significant investment opportunities.
Additional Development Projects Inaugurated
Alongside the groundbreaking, Fadnavis inaugurated the Pune Rural Superintendent of Police office building and other projects by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). He lauded the municipality’s AI-driven initiative to combat unauthorized hoardings and improvements to the city’s fire safety system.
As part of the Dehu Pilgrimage Development Plan, a guest house for police personnel will be constructed near the Dehu Road police station at a cost of ₹11 crore. The expansive new MIDC police station building at Mahalunge, funded by the Chakan Industrial Association through CSR efforts, was also inaugurated at a cost of ₹18.66 crore.
Municipal Development Initiatives
Key projects include the central fire station and training institute in Pimpri, a new fire station at Akurdi Pradhikaran, and road developments connecting Madhuban Hotel and Silver Spoon Hotel to Indira Road. Additionally, a bridge across the Pavana River connecting Mamurdi and Sangavde was opened.
Innovative Urban Solutions
Other initiatives unveiled include Smart City’s computer system, a new building at Talera Hospital in Chinchwad, artistic installations made from waste, rooftop solar systems on municipal buildings, and the City Hub for Data Communication project.
These advancements are expected to significantly enhance public safety, infrastructure, and urban management across Pimpri-Chinchwad.
