Pune: A trader from Fursungi has been defrauded of ₹38.97 lakh by a fellow trader, who promised to provide dealership opportunities for renowned ghee products. The victim, Ramesh Bhujbal (61), filed a complaint with the Alankar Police Station, leading to the registration of a case against Subodh Vishwanath Shirodkar, a resident of Karvenagar, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
According to police reports, Bhujbal and Shirodkar were acquainted, and the accused had assured Bhujbal that he would be granted dealerships for several well-known ghee products starting from May 2024. The deal was arranged at the Siddhi Building in Sankalp Society, where Bhujbal transferred a total of ₹38.97 lakh to different bank accounts as part of the dealership process.
However, when Bhujbal failed to receive any dealership as promised, he realized he had been defrauded and filed a case against Shirodkar. The Alankar Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
