Pune: The Dighi police have arrested two individuals in two separate operations for illegal possession of pistols. Both incidents occurred over the weekend, with the police seizing two pistols and one cartridge from the accused.
The first arrest took place on March 30 near the banks of the Indrayani River in Alandi, around 5 p.m. Acting on a tip-off, the police detained Giriraj Chimmanram Bairwa (35), a resident of Alandi, originally from Rajasthan. A search revealed a pistol worth Rs 50,000 in his possession, leading to his arrest.
The second operation occurred the following day, on March 31, at a ground behind a school in Wadmukhwadi. The arrested individual, Ket Balasaheb Daundkar (23), was detained after the police received information about a man carrying a pistol at the location. A search revealed a pistol worth Rs 50,000 and a live cartridge worth Rs 1,000 in his possession. The Dighi police are continuing their investigation into both
