Pune: A woman bouncer employed at Hotel Kings Food and Beverages in Yerawada was physically assaulted and verbally abused by two men after she intervened to stop them from harassing female guests on the dance floor. The incident took place late Saturday night into Sunday when the bouncer noticed the men behaving inappropriately toward women.
Despite her efforts to calm the situation, the accused, identified as Ganesh Ghawate (34) from Shirur and Yash Kotwal, got into a heated argument with her. They then abused and manhandled her. Following the incident, the Yerawada police registered a case against them under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, on charges of molestation, assault, and offensive conduct.
Assistant Police Inspector Vishal Takale, commenting on the case, stated, “The complainant observed that the accused were pushing female customers who appeared uncomfortable while dancing. When she requested them to maintain proper decorum, they became aggressive and assaulted her.” The police have since taken preventive action against the accused.
