Pune: In a tragic incident, a married woman who had returned to her maternal home due to discord with her husband ended her life after facing rejection of a marriage proposal and alleged threats. The incident took place on May 26, 2025, around 6 PM at the Annabhau Sathe Vasahat area. Parvati Police have registered a case against two individuals in this regard.
The deceased has been identified as Deepali Jadhav (29), a resident of Annabhau Sathe Vasahat, Sinhagad Road. Her brother, Abhijit Sudhakar Bhosale (23), a resident of Shahunagar, Shripur, Taluka Malshiras, District Solapur, filed a complaint at the Parvati Police Station. Based on his complaint, police have registered a case against Tushar Dada Kamble (resident of Bawda, Taluka Indapur) and Pravin Ramchandra Chopade (resident of Akurdi, in front of Khandoba Mal Mandir).
According to police reports, Deepali Jadhav was Abhijit Bhosale’s sister. She was previously married but had been living with her mother at Annabhau Sathe Vasahat for the past 6–7 months due to issues with her husband. During this time, she developed a relationship with Tushar Kamble and had expressed her desire to marry him. However, Kamble refused to marry her. Additionally, Pravin Chopade allegedly threatened her over a phone call the day before the incident. Deepali, distressed by these developments, died by suicide by hanging herself.
Police have registered a case of abetment to suicide, and Assistant Police Inspector Namdev is leading the investigation.
