Pune: Suhasini Chandrakant Dhotre, a 45-year-old domestic worker from Subhash Nagar, Yerwada, experienced a moment of panic on Monday afternoon when she realized she had left her purse containing valuables worth Rs. 1.09 lakh in an auto-rickshaw.
According to reports, Dhotre had travelled by rickshaw to a nearby bank for official work around 1:00 PM. After completing her tasks, she disembarked and only realized around 1:30 PM that her purse was missing. The purse contained a gold chain and a significant amount of cash.
Acting swiftly, Dhotre approached the Yerwada Police Station and informed officers about the incident. She mentioned that she had paid the rickshaw driver via Google Pay, which helped the police trace the vehicle. Police Officer Surve and Constable Kamble, under the guidance of the Detection Branch (DB) squad, immediately began their investigation.
Thanks to quick coordination and effective action by the police, the rickshaw was located in a short time. The missing purse, with all its contents intact, was recovered and returned to Dhotre.
The prompt and efficient response of the Yerwada Police not only ensured the recovery of the valuables but also underscored the importance of quick reporting and public trust in law enforcement.
