Pune : The 27th edition of the Kalashree Sangeet Mahotsav, organised by Kalashree Sangeet Mandal, commenced on Friday, January 10, at Natsamrat Nilu Phule Rangmandir, New Sangvi. The three-day festival, which runs until January 12, promises a rich celebration of music, dance, and instrumental art for enthusiasts.
Senior vocalist Sudhakar Chavan, the founder of Kalashree Sangeet Mandal, announced that the event, rooted in the legacy of Kirana Gharana maestro Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, features an impressive lineup of performances.
Day 1 Highlights:
The festival began with a Bharatanatyam performance by Riddhi Potdar, followed by a vocal recital by Pandit Atul Khandekar, and a tabla performance by Ishan Ghosh.
Day 2 Lineup:
Saturday’s schedule includes a vocal performance by young singer Viraj Joshi, a flute recital by renowned flutist Pandit Himanshu Nanda, and a vocal performance by Gayatri Joshi.
Day 3 Finale:
The final day will feature a performance by Pandit Sameer Suryavanshi and his disciples, a vocal recital by Shashwati Chavan, and will conclude with a performance by Pandit Raghunandan Panshikar.
Accompanying the performers are prominent harmonium artists Pandit Suyog Kundalkar, Avinash Dighe, Madhav Marne, and others. Tabla accompaniment includes Pandit Bharat Kamat, Prashant Pandav, and Kishor Korde, while pakhavaj support will be provided by Gambhir Maharaj.
