Pune: Social media is abuzz with rumors this morning about Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy reportedly visiting Roopali restaurant on FC Road.
Writer Shilpa Godbole shared her thoughts on the matter on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “A sensational rumor is circulating in Pune’s social circles: Narayana Murthy supposedly made an appearance at Roopali restaurant this morning. But honestly, if he were really there, wouldn’t he have already posted a picture with Pune’s Twitter elite?”
For those unfamiliar, Roopali is a well-known South Indian restaurant in Pune, originally named Madras Café when it opened in 1968. Over time, it became a popular spot for Punekars, including several actors from the Marathi film industry, local politicians, academics, and students.
However, while Godbole speculated on whom Murthy might have met, Pune-based technology entrepreneur Amit Paranjape clarified on X that he did not meet the tech icon during his visit. Paranjape shared, “Yes, I was at Roopali for a coffee this morning. And no, I didn’t meet the famous tech industry celebrity who was spotted there by many earlier today. On a related note, some staff at these popular Udupi restaurants work very hard… More than 70 hours a week.”
The mystery surrounding Murthy’s visit continues to fuel conversations, but so far, no official details have been shared.
