Pune: Renewable energy giant Suzlon has landed in trouble after the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) served a notice for allegedly operating an unlicensed commercial eatery within a residential complex in Amanora Township. The facility, run by Neomis Hospitality—Suzlon’s contracted catering partner—is reportedly functioning without the necessary permits for food services and commercial activity.
The issue came to light following a formal complaint filed by Deepak Kumar, a former cook at the premises. Kumar alleged that food operations at Suzlon’s guest accommodations in Villas 8 and 9 were being conducted illegally and also flagged improper waste management practices. Responding to the complaint, PMC officials conducted a site inspection, which confirmed that the operations lacked valid licenses.
As a result, PMC has issued a two-day deadline for both Suzlon and Neomis Hospitality to submit the required documentation. Failure to comply will result in legal proceedings.
Health Inspector Anil Damale, who is overseeing the case, stated that the corporation will not hesitate to take action if the entities involved fail to respond in time. He also added that authorities are investigating claims made by the complainant about receiving threats after raising the issue.
