Pune: Pune Metro continued its upward momentum in May 2025, registering ₹7.72 crore in revenue and attracting 47.62 lakh commuters—the highest ridership in the past three months. This growing usage highlights the Metro’s increasing popularity as a preferred mode of daily transport for Punekars.
On a line-wise basis, the PCMC to Swargate corridor (Purple Line) accounted for ₹3.64 crore in revenue and transported 21.46 lakh passengers. Meanwhile, the Ramwadi to Vanaz route (Aqua Line) recorded higher earnings at ₹4.07 crore with 26.15 lakh commuters during the month.
Between January and May 2025, Pune Metro showed consistent performance. January topped the chart with 49.64 lakh riders and ₹7.78 crore in earnings. February saw a decline with 43.07 lakh passengers and ₹6.71 crore revenue. However, March and April witnessed a recovery, with ridership increasing to 44.81 lakh and 46.59 lakh, and revenue rising to ₹7.01 crore and ₹7.47 crore respectively. May’s performance ranks second after January, signaling growing confidence among city residents in the Metro system’s reliability and convenience.
