Pune: The Pune Police have put in place comprehensive arrangements to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the Palkhi procession, as the revered Sant Dnyaneshwar and Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhis have reached Pune. Around 6,000 police personnel, including Additional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Inspectors, and constables, have been mobilized to manage the event, which is expected to attract approximately six to seven lakh devotees.

Key security and management measures include:

Enhanced Surveillance: CCTV cameras and drones will provide continuous monitoring of the procession, enabling prompt action in case of any untoward incidents.

Crowd Control: Strict protocols will be enforced to manage the large crowd, ensuring safety and preventing overcrowding.

Security Checkpoints: Checkpoints at critical locations will help maintain security and prevent potential risks.

GPS Monitoring: The procession’s progress will be tracked in real-time via GPS to facilitate efficient management and swift responses.

Medical Support: Emergency medical facilities will be established along the procession route to offer immediate assistance if required.

To facilitate smooth traffic movement, Pune Traffic Police have announced road closures on major routes from noon onwards and suggested alternative paths for motorists. Live updates regarding the Palkhi procession will be shared on Pune Police’s official social media channels.
