Pune: Supriya Sule, NCP-SP Working President and MP for Baramati, has reached out to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, seeking urgent intervention over waterlogging problems in Pune’s Hinjawadi area. On Monday, Sule wrote to Fadnavis calling for an in-depth expert analysis and a sustainable, long-term plan to tackle persistent flooding in Hinjawadi, Rajiv Gandhi IT Park, Maan, Marunji, and surrounding localities.

Posting her appeal on X (formerly Twitter), Sule noted that blocked natural water channels are the primary reason for the recurring waterlogging every monsoon. She requested Fadnavis to commission a study by experts to come up with a lasting solution to ease citizens’ hardships.

This is not the first time Sule has raised infrastructure concerns in the region. Last Friday, she had suggested the formation of a dedicated administrative authority for Hinjawadi and its nearby areas. Highlighting the bureaucratic delays faced by residents and workers due to multiple agencies like MIDC, municipal bodies, PMRDA, MSEDCL, and the police, Sule recommended an independent governing body led by a competent official.

Such a move, she argued, would simplify grievance redressal and reduce the burden on citizens. Sule appealed to the Chief Minister to take the proposal seriously, urging prompt action to resolve these longstanding civic issues.
