Pune : A four-year-old girl trapped on the third floor of a building was safely rescued by a fire department officer, narrowly avoiding a potential tragedy.
The incident took place at Sonawane Building in Gujar Nimbalkarwadi. The child, named Bhavika, was locked alone inside her third-floor apartment by her mother, who had gone to drop her elder daughter at school. Left unattended, Bhavika walked to the window and managed to stick her head out through the iron grills, eventually reaching the balcony. Realizing the danger, she held on tightly to the window bars and remained still.
A chilling video of the incident has surfaced, showing the intensity of the moment.
Residents of the society were horrified upon seeing the child hanging out of the window and began shouting for help. Fortunately, Yogesh Chavan, a fire brigade officer who was off duty and at home, responded immediately. He rushed to the third floor but found the door locked from the outside. Without wasting a moment, he rushed back down to collect the key from the child’s mother, unlocked the door, and safely pulled Bhavika inside from the balcony.
The incident occurred at 9:06 AM. A delay of even a few minutes could have resulted in a serious mishap. While there was a brief moment of panic in the neighborhood, everyone breathed a sigh of relief once Bhavika was brought to safety.
