Pimpri: A high-level inspection and review meeting was conducted on Monday to address pressing monsoon-related issues in Hinjewadi Phases 1, 2, and 3, including areas along the metro corridor. The inspection was jointly led by Deepak Singla, Additional Metropolitan Commissioner of PMRDA, and Vijay Rathod, Joint CEO of MIDC, alongside senior officials from various departments.
The visit was followed by an important meeting held at the Hinjewadi Industrial Association office, where officials reviewed the situation and issued several directives aimed at improving rainwater management, road infrastructure, and civic amenities.
Key Directives Issued:
Drainage near Dolphin and Sai Proviso Buildings:
Authorities ordered immediate action to ensure proper drainage of rainwater to prevent waterlogging in the vicinity.
Construction Debris Removal:
Instructions were given to urgently clear debris lying along the metro corridor and nearby zones, ensuring safe and unobstructed access.
Pollution Control Measures:
Companies discharging polluted water into natural drains will face strict action under environmental regulations.
Natural Drain Clearance and Drainage Line Repair:
Blocked natural drains must be reopened and cleaned, and all drainage lines are to be repaired and maintained to ensure smooth water flow during the monsoon.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Superintendent of Police and Vigilance Officer Amol Tambe, PMRDA Chief Engineer Rinaz Pathan, Director of Development and Planning Sunil Marale, MIDC Chief Engineer Nitin Wankhede, and Hinjewadi Traffic Police Inspector Prasad Gokule.
The directives were issued in continuation of the action plan discussed during an earlier review meeting chaired by PMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase on June 11. Authorities were instructed to implement the decisions immediately to avoid any disruptions during the monsoon.
